Privacy Policy for AC Light

This Privacy Policy describes how AC Light ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use our mobile application.
1. Overview
AC Light is an offline-first application designed for automotive air conditioning technicians to manage client records, vehicles, and service history. All data you enter into AC Light is stored locally on your device only. We do not operate any server, and we do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your data.
2. Information We Collect
AC Light stores the following information locally on your device:
- Client information: names, phone numbers, and referral relationships that you manually enter.
- Vehicle information: make, model, engine, year, license plate number, VIN, and photographs that you add.
- Service records: dates, services performed, and payment amounts that you manually enter.
- App preferences: selected language, vibration/sound settings, and app lock preference, stored on your device.
None of this information is sent to us, to any server, or to any third party. We have no ability to view, access, or recover this data.
3. Permissions We Use
AC Light requests the following device permissions, used solely for the purposes described:

| Biometric / Device credential | To provide an optional app lock feature, if you choose to enable it in Settings. Biometric data is handled entirely by the Android operating system; AC Light never accesses or stores your fingerprint, face data, or PIN. |
| Contacts (picker only) | When you choose to import a contact's name and phone number into a client record, AC Light uses the Android system contact picker. AC Light does not request broad access to your contact list and cannot read your contacts outside of the specific contact you choose to import. |
4. Data Storage and Security
All data is stored in the app's private storage area on your device, which is not accessible to other apps. If you enable the optional App Lock feature, access to the app requires biometric authentication or your device PIN before the app can be opened.
5. Backup and Data Export
AC Light includes an optional manual backup feature that creates a ZIP file containing your data (database and vehicle photos) on your device. You control where this file goes — the App uses the standard Android share function, and you choose the destination (for example, your own cloud storage or messaging app). We do not have access to this file at any point, and the App itself does not upload it anywhere automatically.
6. Third-Party Services
AC Light does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The App uses on-device machine learning (Google ML Kit) for QR code scanning and text/license-plate recognition; this processing happens entirely on your device and does not send images or data to Google or any other party.
7. In-App Purchases
AC Light offers an optional one-time "Pro" purchase through Google Play Billing to unlock additional features. Purchase processing is handled entirely by Google Play; we do not receive or store your payment information. Please refer to Google Play's own Privacy Policy for information on how Google handles payment data.
8. Your Control Over Your Data
Because all data is stored only on your device:
- You can delete any client, vehicle, or visit record at any time from within the App.
- You can delete all data by uninstalling the App.
- You are solely responsible for any backup files you create and share; deleting those files is your responsibility as well.
9. Children's Privacy
AC Light is a business tool intended for use by automotive service professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

This policy applies specifically to the AC Light mobile application. AC Light operates entirely offline; no data described in this policy is ever transmitted to us or any third party unless you explicitly choose to share a backup file yourself.
