In their own words

AC Light was built by a second-generation refrigeration technician. His technical path started back in school — soldering, winding transformers, and building game consoles. Later came work with instrumentation and control systems at a power plant, commissioning industrial automation, and installing and starting up refrigeration systems — today he specializes in car air conditioning repair. AC Light was born from a personal pain point: no convenient tool for client management existed for this narrow niche, so he built one himself.

Answers to what technicians ask most often

No, the base version of AC Light is completely free and includes the client database, visit history, referral program with bonuses, and data backups. The Pro version ($29.99, one-time purchase, forever) adds advanced tools: a price calculator, discount system, detailed statistics, and business card customization.

No. AC Light is a one-time purchase, forever. We have no plans to move the app to a subscription — what you buy once stays yours.

By default — yes, absolutely nothing leaves your phone. Your entire database (clients, vehicles, visit history, photos) lives only in your phone’s storage, and stays that way unless you decide otherwise.

If you’d still like a safety net against losing data when your phone breaks or gets replaced, there’s a separate option in Settings: sync with your personal Google Drive. It’s off by default and only turns on manually, through an explicit sign-in to your own Google account. Your data doesn’t go to our server — we don’t have one — it goes into a private folder in your own Google account, invisible in your regular Google Drive and accessible to no one except the app itself, through your authorization. You can turn sync off at any time with the same toggle in Settings.

The app includes backup and restore — back up your data ahead of time, and easily restore it on a new device.
